On the morning of February 19, 2019, Wang Hainian, the Vice Dean of the School of Highway, was invited by the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport to participate in the 2019 Coordination Working Meeting of the Five-Year Action Plan for China-Pakistan Highway Technical Cooperation.
The coordination meeting was chaired by Director Wu Dejin from Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport. Representatives from China Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Transport, the Highway Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Chang'an University and China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., met with the Pakistan delegation led by Asim Amin, Deputy Director of the National Highway Bureau of Pakistan. Ten representatives from the Pakistan Highway Bureau, the Transportation Research Center of the Pakistan Ministry of Transport, the Pakistan State University of Science and Technology, and the Ba University of Engineering and Technology attended the meeting.
At the coordination meeting, Wang Hainian introduced the cooperation between the School of Highway and Pakistan in personnel training and scientific research. He said that the Highway School would vigorously support the five-year action plan of China-Pakistan highway technical cooperation, to cultivate high-level master's and phd students for Pakistan, promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of highway transportation, and make positive contributions to the national “Belt and Road” initiative. The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport has highly recognized the positive efforts of our School in the implementation of the five-year action plan for China-Pakistan highway technical cooperation. The Pakistani delegation also spoke highly of the talent training in our school and expressed their gratitude, and expected further cooperation in the future.
The Five-Year Action Plan for China-Pakistan Highway Technical Cooperation (2018-2022) was signed by the Ministry of Communications of China and Pakistan in May 2017. It plans to enhance Pakistan's highway technology construction capacity by technical cooperation and personnel training with in five year,and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
In this action plan, Chang'an University undertakes the work of talent cultivation.
