The COVID-19 virus is spreading across the world. Up to now, a total of 33 students in our school have exchanged and studied in Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, Ireland, Norway and other countries.
In order to ensure the health and personal safety of overseas exchange students, and to effectively prevent the imported risks of the epidemic., three powerful measures were quickly adopted.
1. Student Status Real-Time Tracking
The counselors got in touch with overseas exchange students immediately, and expressed the concern on the health status of overseas students and their families, and learned about the current location of the students and the development and the local prevention of the epidemic.
Relying on the information platform, the counselors regularly publishes and collects information and informs overseas students about the epidemic prevention and control in real time.
2. Caring for Students' Physical and Mental Health
Our school counselors try their best to overcome the jet lag problems, and actively contact students who exchanged and studied in the United States, Ireland, France, Germany, the Netherlands and other places through information platforms such as the WeChat, and QQ.
Through video communication, the counselor is concerned about the current health status of the students, recent study and living conditions and psychological conditions. They urged the students to strengthen the protection awareness, take effective personal protection measures, study and work from home to ensure their own safety. Besides, students should learn about the development of the local epidemic situation through official channels, abide by local laws and regulations, pay attention to the official website of China embassies and consulates abroad, and cooperate with local epidemic prevention and control. They also encourage students to communicate with family, classmates and teachers to relieve tension and anxiety in time.
3. Targeted Student Management
Highway school implements targeted management for different types of overseas exchange students, such as students who have recently returned to China, students with undetermined return schedules and students who do not plan to return to China recently. With regard to the question of whether to plan to return to China in the near future, the counselor advises the students to combine their own learning situation, communicate with their families and supervisor, comprehensively understand the visa and other relevant policies for returning students to the country, and make rational judgments. Students who are determined to return should inform the counselor of the time of the journay, do personal protection on the way back, cooperate with domestic epidemic prevention and control after arriving, do isolation as reuired, and do not return to the school without permission.
Even if we are thousands of miles apart, we will continue to do our best in the epidemic prevention of overseas exchange students, and make every effort to ensure the safety and health of every student. We believe that in the near future, the sun will break through the haze of the virus, and every overseas exchange student can return to the embrace of the motherland safely and healthily.
