On the morning of December 13, 2019, Professor James W. Maina, a member of the South African Academy of Engineering and a full-time professor of civil engineering at the University of Pretoria, visited the School of Highway. Prof. WANG Hainian, a vice dean of the School of Highway, Prof. ZHANG Jiupeng, a dean assistant, Prof. LIU Zhuangzhuang and Prof. YOU Qinglong met with the guests in the second conference room of the Highway School.
Prof. WANG Hainian extended a warm welcome to Prof. James W. Maina's visit. He expressed the hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Chang'an University and the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The two sides also held discussions on the application of national-level international cooperation research centers, inter-school exchanges and cooperation, licensing of school-level joint laboratories, and construction of Confucius Institutes.
At 10:00a.m., Prof. James W. Maina gave an academic report entitled "Structural analysis of pavements using wave propagation analysis" in the first meeting room of the School of Highway and conducted an extensive discussion with teachers and students at Chang’an University.
