On June 6, 2019, a delegation from Iowa State University led by Professor David h. Sanders, dean of School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering, visited Chang’an University and signed a collaboration agreement on “3 + 1 + 1” programs in “Road, Bridge and River-Crossing Engineering” and “Transportation Engineering”. Professor WANG Hainian, Deputy Dean of the School of Highway, Chang’an Univeristy, met with Professor David H. Sanders to discuss the cooperation intentions on joint training of students and scientific research.
On June 6, Professor David h. Sanders and the delegation visited the facilities for the UCD-CHD Dual Degree Undergraduate Programme in Weishui campus. YANG Guanghui, director of Center for International Education, introduced the program background and progression to the delegation. The two sides both showed strong interests in future cooperation.
Hereafter, Professor David H. Sanders and the delegation delivered a speech on the "3 + 1 + 1" program between Chang'an University and Iowa State University in WM1104. He introduced the background information, geographic environment, and specialties of the Iowa State University, and answered questions related to this "3 + 1 + 1" programme.

In the end, Professor David h. Sanders and his delegation visited the school history museum, HVS acceleration loading laboratory, automobile test field and other experimental facilities. He expressed high appreciations on Chang'an University’s international and domestic education and advanced experimental conditions. He was very expecting to carry out an in-depth teaching and scientific research cooperation with the school of highway.
