On October 11, Professor Zhang Gang from the School of Highway was invited to give a report entitled "Fire resistance of high-strength steel bridge" at the European Advanced Materials Conference held in Stockholm, Sweden, and won the IAAM Scientist Medal, and was selected as a member of the Executive Committee in recognition of his contribution to the innovative research field of fire-resistant design methods for high-strength steel bridges.

Zhang Gang, professor, Ph.D. supervisor, member of the International Association for Advanced Materials, academic leader of bridge fire science and safety assurance, now director of the Bridge Extreme Load and Protection Research Center of Chang'an University, mainly engaged in bridge engineering teaching, bridge fire safety technology research. Presided over 4 national-level projects, 4 provincial and ministerial-level projects, 20 major engineering application projects, published 131 papers, 3 monographs, 35 patents and soft works, formulated 4 standards, and won various provincial and ministerial academic awards.
