CONFERENCE GOAL
Geoeconomics, driven by technological and digital advancements, affects a great number of scientific and professional research projects and the implementation of new technical solutions resulting in e-commerce growth and the development of production as well as traffic and logistics as an inevitable part of meeting social needs. Such requirements are not new to the transport and logistics sector, but in the digital age the tasks and opportunities are different. In a digital environment, the logistics and transport sector must find new business planning strategies and methods, with new technologies enabling significant improvement of services. Digitization significantly improves traffic management through precise information on traffic conditions and vehicle or goods location. Better data exchange and accessibility in a digital transport system (communication between means of transport, means of transport and the environment ...) provide uninterrupted flow of information and open a wider range of new business opportunities to both public and private stakeholders in supply chain operations. Carriers can offer optimal transport services; suppliers, factories and distributors can optimize their processes (ordering, inventory management, shipping ...); and the public sector can manage traffic infrastructure more effectively. The analysis of tasks and requirements of the transport and logistics industry in the digital age is the focal point of ZIRP 2018!
